Your vehicle is equipped with an emergency liftgate release lever located at the bottom of the liftgate. If someone is accidentally locked in the luggage compartment, the liftgate can be opened by performing the following steps:

1. Insert the key into the hole.

2. Slide the release lever to the right with the key.

3. Lift the tailgate.

WARNING

  • In emergency situations, be fully aware of the location of the emergency release lever in the vehicle and how to open the liftgate if you are accidentally locked in the luggage compartment.
  • No one should ever be allowed to ride in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. The luggage compartment is a very dangerous place in the event of a collision.
  • Use the release lever only in emergencies. Use with extreme caution, especially while the vehicle is moving.
