Engine Oil Level Warning Light

~1min read

The engine oil level warning light illuminates when the engine oil level needs to be checked.

If the warning light illuminates, check the engine oil level as soon as possible and add engine oil as necessary.

Slowly pour the recommended oil in small amounts through a funnel. (Engine oil capacity: approximately 0.6 ~ 1 L)

Use only the specified engine oil. (Refer to "Recommended Lubricants and Capacities" in Chapter 8.)

Do not overfill the engine oil. Make sure the oil level is not above the F (Full) mark on the dipstick.

Information

  • If you drive approximately 50–100 km after warming up the engine, the warning light will turn off after engine oil is added.
  • Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON three times within 10 seconds. The light will turn off immediately. However, if the warning light is turned off without adding engine oil, it will illuminate again after driving approximately 50 ~ 100 km after warming up the engine.

NOTICE

If the warning light remains on after adding engine oil and driving approximately 50~100 km after warming up the engine, we recommend that you have it checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Even if this indicator does not illuminate after starting the engine, the engine oil should be checked and topped up periodically.
