LKA Activation

~2min read
  • To view the LKA system screen on the cluster LCD, select Assist Mode (). For more details, refer to "LCD Modes" in Chapter 3.
  • When both lane markings are detected and all conditions for LKA activation are met, the green indicator on the steering wheel will illuminate and the LKA indicator will change color from white to green. This indicates that the LKA system is ON and the steering wheel can be controlled.

WARNING

The Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) system is a system that helps prevent the driver from leaving the lane. However, the driver must not rely solely on the system and must always check the road conditions while driving.

  • If the vehicle speed exceeds 60 km/h and the system detects the lane markings, the color changes from gray to white.
  • If the system detects the left lane marking, the color of the left lane marking will change from gray to white.
  • If the system detects the right lane marking, the color of the right lane marking will change from gray to white.
  • For full system activation, both lane markings must be detected.
  • If your vehicle speed exceeds 60 km/h and the LKA system button is turned on, the system is enabled. If your vehicle deviates from the lane ahead of you, the LKA system operates as follows:

A visual warning appears on the cluster LCD. Either the left lane marker or the right lane marker on the cluster LCD will blink, depending on the direction the vehicle is drifting.

If the warning appears, the system will assist steering to help keep the vehicle from crossing the lane markers.

Keep Hands on Steering Wheel

If the driver removes their hands from the steering wheel for several seconds while the LKA system is active, the system will warn the driver.

Information

If the steering wheel is held very lightly, the warning may still appear because the LKA system may not recognize that the driver's hands are on the steering wheel.

WARNING

The warning message may appear late depending on road conditions. Therefore, always keep your hands on the steering wheel while driving.

Driver grip not detected. LKA system will be temporarily turned off.

If the driver still does not hold the steering wheel after the "Keep Hands on Steering Wheel" message, the system will not control steering and will only warn the driver when the vehicle crosses the lane markings.

However, if the driver places their hands on the steering wheel again, the system will resume steering control.

WARNING

  • The driver is responsible for accurate steering.
  • Turn off the system and drive the vehicle in the following situations.
    - In bad weather
    - On poor road conditions
    - When the steering wheel needs to be controlled frequently by the driver.

Information

  • Even though the system assists steering, the driver must still control the steering wheel.
  • The steering wheel may feel heavier when the system is operating than when it is not.
