Radiator Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

   Loosen the drain plug, drain the coolant, and remove the radiator cap for quick drainage. (Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")

   Remove the cooling fan. (Refer to Cooling System - "Cooling Fan")

   Remove the radiator upper hose (A).

   Remove the lower radiator hose (A).

   Remove the front bumper. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Front Bumper")

   Remove the radiator air guard (A).

   Tightening torque: 6.9–10.8 N·m

   Remove the intercooler. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Intercooler")

   Remove the radiator upper bracket bolts (A).

   Tightening torque: 7.8–11.8 N·m

   Disconnect the condenser (A) from the radiator. [Left]

    Pull the radiator (A) upward and remove it from the engine compartment.

    Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Fill the radiator with coolant. (Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")

    Start the engine and check for leaks.

    Recheck the engine coolant level.

Inspection

1. 1
   Remove the radiator cap, wet its seal with engine coolant, then install it on the pressure tester.

   Apply pressure of 93.16–122.58 kPa (0.95–1.25 kgf/cm², 13.51–17.78 psi).

   Check for pressure drop.
4. 4
   If the pressure drops, replace the radiator cap.
