Description

- Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW): Detects other vehicles in the BCW zone and illuminates the BCW warning indicator for the driver. The warning indicator starts flashing when the driver turns on the turn signal to change lanes into a lane in which another vehicle is moving.
- RCCW (Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning): When the vehicle is in reverse, RCCW generates a warning to alert the driver of an approaching vehicle from the rear and side.
- RCCA (Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist): When the vehicle is moving in reverse, RCCA applies the brakes to avoid an approaching vehicle from the rear and side.
- BCA-R (Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist – Rear): When lane change is initiated, BCA-R steers the vehicle to avoid another vehicle within the blind-spot zone.
- SEA (Safe Exit Assist): When exiting the vehicle, SEA generates a warning to alert the occupant of an approaching vehicle from the rear.

- When the engine is started with the switch in the OFF position, the OFF mode is activated.
- When the ON switch is pressed in OFF mode, the passive mode is activated.
- If the engine is started while the switch is turned on, the passive mode is activated. ※ When the ignition is turned on, the switch returns to its initial state: the last position is stored.
- If IGN OFF → ON with the switch on, the switch is on.
- If IGN OFF → ON with the switch in the OFF position, the switch is in the OFF position.
- If the engine is started with the Blind-Spot switch turned on, or if the Blind-Spot Radar is turned on with the Blind-Spot switch turned off, the outside rearview mirror indicator flashes for 2-3 seconds. This informs the driver that the Blind-Spot Radar system is ready. (If the system is in Fail mode, the indicator does not flash.)
- If the activation conditions (speed and radius of curvature) are met during driving, the Active mode is turned on (warning is issued).
- If the activation conditions (speed and radius of curvature) are not met during driving, the passive mode is turned on (warning is canceled).
- If BCW and LCA operation fails in any mode, fail mode is activated.
- If the BCW and LCA operations are normal in Fail mode, the OFF mode is turned on.
- If the OFF button is pressed during BCW and LCA operation (active/passive), OFF mode is on.
- Warning Zone

- BCW warning activation conditions: ① The entire body of the target vehicle is behind line A. ② Any part of the target vehicle crosses line B. ③ Any part of the target vehicle crosses line D and hysteresis In. ④ The entire part of the target vehicle crosses line E and hysteresis B.

- BCW warning deactivation conditions: ① The entire body of the target vehicle moves ahead of line A. ② The entire body of the target vehicle moves behind line B. ③ The entire body of the target vehicle crosses line D and hysteresis Out. ④ The entire part of the target vehicle crosses line E and hysteresis Out.

- LCA warning activation conditions: ① The entire body of the target vehicle is behind line B. ② Any part of the target vehicle crosses line C. ③ Any part of the target vehicle crosses line D and hysteresis In. ④ The entire part of the target vehicle crosses line E and hysteresis B. ⑤ In all of the above conditions, TTC (Time To Collision) is 4.5 sec or more.

- LCA warning deactivation conditions: ① The entire body of the target vehicle is ahead of line B. ② The entire body of the target vehicle crosses line C. ③ The entire body of the target vehicle crosses line D and hysteresis Out. ④ The entire body of the target vehicle crosses line E and hysteresis Out. ⑤ In all of the above conditions, TTC (Time To Collision) exceeds 4.5 sec.

- Sensor activation conditions: ① BCW and LCA switch (indicated by the switch LED) is on. ② Vehicle speed: 30 km/h or higher. ③ Radius of curvature: 100 m or more. ④ Relative vehicle speed: -15 to 255 km/h ("-" means overtaking the vehicle ahead).
- Sensor deactivation conditions: ① BCW and LCA switch (indicated by the switch LED) is off. ② Vehicle speed: 28 km/h or lower. ③ Radius of curvature: 70 m or less. ④ Relative vehicle speed: all except -15 to 255 km/h. ("-" means overtaking the vehicle ahead.)
- System control restrictions: ① Radar covered by debris: System status – a blockage message is displayed.
② Radar installation damaged by external impact: Display the error code. ③ BCW and LCA system malfunction: Display the error code. ④ Radar overheated: System status – an overheating message is displayed.
If the sensor on the rear bumper is covered with snow, dirt, or stickers, its detection performance may be reduced.
- Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW)
Item Reference value Notes Activation speed 0 to -10 km/h (reverse) Activated when the shift lever is moved to the R (Reverse) position. Time-to-collision value 2 - 3.5 sec. +: Closing Activation distance 0.5 m - 25 m Wheelbase
① Generates a warning when there is a risk of collision with an approaching vehicle from the left and right sides of your vehicle when reversing out of a parking space. ② Based on time to collision (TTC), a warning is generated for a vehicle that may collide within 3.5 seconds.
③ The warning zone is as follows:
Time To Collision (TTC): The time calculated using relative distance/speed, which is the time until a possible collision. (TTC may change depending on the relative speed of the approaching vehicle.)

- BCA-R (Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist – Rear)
Item Reference value Notes Activation speed 60 - 180 km/h Same operating conditions as the front camera - RCCA (Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist)
Item Reference value Notes Activation speed -1 to -10 km/h (reverse) Activated when the shift lever is moved to the R (Reverse) position. Time-to-collision value 2 - 3.5 sec. +: closing Activation distance 0.5 m - 25 m Wheelbase
① The brake is applied if the vehicle does not stop even after a warning is generated due to the risk of collision when reversing out of a parking space. ② Depending on the time to collision, the brake is applied to the vehicle within 2 seconds.
Time To Collision (TTC): The time calculated using relative distance/speed, which is the time until a possible collision. (TTC may change depending on the relative speed of the approaching vehicle.)
