Interior Care
General Interior Precautions
Avoid caustic solutions, such as perfume or cosmetic oil, from contacting interior parts, because they can cause damage or discoloration. If they contact interior parts, wipe them off immediately. See the instructions on how to properly clean vinyl.
NOTICE
- Never allow water or other liquids to contact electrical/electronic components inside the vehicle, as this may damage them.
- When cleaning leather items (steering wheel, seats, etc.), use neutral cleaners or low-alcohol content solutions. If you use solutions with a high alcohol content or acid-alkaline cleaners, the leather color may fade or the surface may peel.
Cleaning Upholstery and Interior Trim
Vinyl (if equipped)
Remove dust and loose dirt from vinyl with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean vinyl surfaces with a vinyl cleaner.
Fabric (if equipped)
Remove dust and loose dirt from cloth with a brush or vacuum cleaner. A mild soap solution is recommended for cleaning upholstery or carpets. Remove fresh stains immediately with a fabric stain remover. If fresh stains are not treated immediately, the fabric may become permanently stained and its color may be affected. In addition, its flame-resistant properties may be reduced if the material is not properly maintained.
NOTICE
Using anything other than the recommended cleaner and procedure may affect the appearance of the fabric and its flame-retardant properties.
Leather (if equipped)
• Leather Seat Features
- The leather is made from the outer skin of an animal, which goes through a special process to be suitable for use. Since it is a natural product, the thickness or density varies in each part. Wrinkles may appear as a natural result of stretching and compressing depending on temperature and humidity.
- The seat is made of stretchable fabric for improved comfort.
- The body-contacting parts have a high curved and lateral support area, which provides driving comfort and stability.
- Wrinkles may appear naturally from use. This is not a product defect.
CAUTION
- Wrinkles or scratches that appear naturally as a result of use are not covered by the warranty.
- Belts with metal fittings, zippers, or keys inside the rear pocket may damage the seat fabric.
- Be careful not to get the seat wet. This may change the characteristics of the genuine leather.
- Jeans or clothing that may bleed dye can stain the seat upholstery fabric.
• Leather Seat Care
- Vacuum the seat periodically to remove dust and sand from the seat. This will prevent abrasion or damage to the leather and maintain its quality.
- Wipe the genuine leather seat. Frequently cover with a dry or soft cloth.
- Using a proper leather protectant can prevent abrasion of the coating and help maintain the color. Be sure to read the instructions and consult a specialist when using a leather coating or protective agent.
- Light (beige, cream) leather easily gets dirty and stains are noticeable. Clean the seats often.
- Avoid wiping with a wet cloth. This may cause the surface to crack.
• Cleaning Leather Seats
- Remove all stains immediately. See the instructions below for removing each type of stain.
- Cosmetic products (sunscreen, foundation, etc.)
Apply cleansing cream to a cloth and wipe the stained area. Wipe off the cream with a damp cloth and remove the water with a dry cloth.
- Beverages (coffee, soft drinks, etc.)
Apply a small amount of neutral detergent and wipe from the outside of the stain toward the center so as not to spread it.
- Oil
Immediately absorb the oil with an absorbent cloth and wipe with a stain remover used only for genuine leather.
- Chewing gum
Harden the chewing gum with ice and remove it gradually.
Cleaning the Seat Belt Webbing
Clean the seat belt webbing with any mild soap solution recommended for cleaning upholstery or carpet. Follow the instructions supplied with the soap. Do not bleach or dye the webbing, because this may weaken the seat belt.
Cleaning the Interior Glass
If the interior glass surfaces of the vehicle fog up (that is, become covered with an oily, greasy, or waxy film), they should be cleaned with a glass cleaner. Follow the instructions on the glass cleaner container.
NOTICE
Do not scratch or scrape the inside of the rear window. This may damage the rear window defroster grid.
