Release Fuel Line Residual Pressure

Hyundai Palisade. Release residual pressure in fuel line
  • Whenever the high-pressure fuel fuse is blown, or the fuel tube, delivery pipe, or injector is removed immediately after the engine is stopped, injury may be caused by high-pressure fuel spray. Release the residual pressure in the high-pressure fuel line by referring to the "Fuel Pressure Release Procedure" below before removing any high-pressure fuel system components.

  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Run the engine for about 1 minute to reduce the pressure in the low-pressure fuel line.
  5. Turn the engine off.
  6. Disconnect the quick connector of the low-pressure fuel feed tube from the high-pressure fuel pump. Use shop towels to cover the opening and catch any spilled fuel when removing the fuel tube.
  7. Start the engine and let it run at idle until it stops. At this point, the pressure should be below 30 psi.
  8. Continue with the service or repair. Use shop towels to cover the opening and catch any spilled fuel when opening the high-pressure system.
  9. Reinstall/reconnect all components in the reverse order of removal. Start the engine and check that it operates correctly, and check that there are no fuel leaks.
  10. After completion, clear the DTCs using a diagnostic scan tool. (The procedure described above will set DTCs.)
