| 1. Supplemental Restraint System Control Module (SRSCM) |
Description and Operation
Description
The main purpose of the SRSCM (Supplemental Restraint System Control Module) is to distinguish between an event that requires deployment of the restraint system and an event that does not. The SRSCM must decide whether to activate the restraint system or not. After determining that the pretensioners and/or airbags must be deployed, the SRSCM must supply sufficient power to the pretensioners and airbag igniters to initiate deployment. The SRSCM determines that an impact may require deployment of the pretensioners and airbags based on data received from the impact sensors and other components in combination with the safing function. The SRSCM will not be ready to detect a crash or activate the restraint devices until the signals in the SRSCM circuit have stabilized. The SRSCM may activate the restraint devices in approximately 2 seconds, but full functionality is guaranteed only after the check is completed. The SRSCM must perform the diagnostic procedure and illuminate the system ready indicator when the ignition switch is in the ON position. The system must perform continuous diagnostic procedures and provide fault notification via the warning lamp if a malfunction is detected. The serial diagnostic communication interface will be used to facilitate servicing of the restraint control system.Circuit Diagrams

Repair Procedures
Removal
- TURN the engine OFF.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least three minutes before starting work.
- Remove the floor console assembly. (Refer to Body – Floor Console Assembly)
- Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the air duct.
- Pull up the SRSCM connector lock to disconnect the connector.

- Remove the SRSCM mounting bolts, then remove the SRSCM.

- Remove or install the SRSCM or other SRS components with the ignition switched OFF to prevent accidental airbag deployment.

- Remove or install the SRSCM or other SRS components with the ignition switched OFF to prevent accidental airbag deployment.
Installation
- TURN the engine OFF.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least three minutes before starting work.
- Install the SRSCM using the SRSCM mounting bolts (3 pcs.).
Tightening Torque: 9.8–13.7 N·m

- Connect the SRSCM wiring harness connector.
- Install the rear air duct.
- Install the floor console assembly. (Refer to Body - Floor Console Assembly)
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- After installing the SRSCM, check that the system operates correctly: Turn the ignition ON; the SRS indicator should illuminate for approximately six seconds and then turn off.

- If the SRSCM is always replaced, perform variant coding. In addition, perform the G-sensor zero point setting. (Refer to Brake System - "Yaw Rate and Lateral G Sensor")
Variant Coding
After replacing the SRSCM with a new one, the "Variant Coding" procedure must be performed. Variant coding procedure- Connect the GDS cable to the data link connector (DLC) located on the lower driver's side instrument panel, and turn on the GDS.
- Select "Software Management" and "Vehicle Model".

- Select "Airbag" and "ACU/SRSCM Variant Coding".

- Perform the "ACU/SRSCM Variant Coding" procedure according to the GDS screen message.
