Heating

1. Select the floor levelHyundai Palisade. System Operationmode.

2. Set the air intake control to the fresh air mode.

3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.

4. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.

5. If desired, turn the A/C on with the temperature control knob set to heat to dehumidify the air before it enters the cabin.

If the windshield fogs up, select the floor and defrostHyundai Palisade. System Operationmode or press the front defrost buttonHyundai Palisade. System Operationmode.

  • To protect against dust or unpleasant odors entering the vehicle through the ventilation system, temporarily set the air intake control to the recirculation mode. Return the control to the fresh mode when outside air odors have decreased. This helps keep the driver alert and comfortable.
  • To help prevent the inside of the windshield from fogging, set the air intake control to fresh mode and the fan speed to the desired position, turn on the A/C system, and adjust the temperature control to the desired temperature.

Air Conditioning

Your HYUNDAI vehicle's air conditioning system is charged with R-134a refrigerant.

1. Start the engine.

2. Press the air conditioner button.

3. Select the face level.Hyundai Palisade. System Operationmode.

4. Set the air intake control to recirculation mode to temporarily allow the cabin to cool down quickly. When the desired cabin temperature is reached, change the air intake control back to fresh mode.

5. Adjust the blower speed and temperature control to maintain maximum comfort.

When maximum cooling is required, set the temperature control to the MAX A/C position, then set the fan speed control to the maximum setting.

NOTICE

When using the A/C system, carefully monitor the engine temperature while driving in mountainous areas or in heavy traffic at high outside temperatures. Operating the A/C system while climbing a steep grade or at high outside temperatures may cause engine overheating. Continue to use the fan, but turn the A/C system off if the engine temperature gauge indicates engine overheating.

Air Conditioning System Operation Tips

  • If the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight in hot weather, open the windows briefly to allow hot air to escape from the vehicle.
  • Once sufficient cooling is achieved, switch back from recirculation mode to fresh mode.
  • To reduce humidity inside the windows on rainy or humid days, reduce humidity inside the vehicle using the air conditioning system with the windows and sunroof closed.
  • Use the air conditioning system for a few minutes each month to ensure maximum system performance.
  • If you operate the A/C excessively, the difference between the outside air temperature and the windshield temperature may cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, resulting in reduced visibility. In this case, set the control knob or mode selection button to theHyundai Palisade. System Operationposition and reduce the fan speed to a lower setting.
