Your vehicle is equipped with an emergency release lever for the liftgate, located at the bottom of the liftgate. If someone is accidentally trapped in the luggage compartment, use the following procedure to open the liftgate:

1. Remove the cover.
2. Push the lever to the right.
3. Raise the liftgate.

WARNING

  • It is recommended that you know the location of the emergency release lever and how to open the liftgate if you are trapped in the luggage compartment.
  • Never allow anyone to ride in the luggage compartment. The luggage compartment is extremely dangerous in the event of an accident.
  • Use the emergency release lever only in an emergency. Use with extreme caution while the vehicle is in motion.
