Reducing the Risk of Rollover
This multi-purpose passenger vehicle is classified as a sport utility vehicle (SUV). Vehicles in this category have a higher ground clearance and a narrower track, which improves their performance in off-road conditions. Their special design gives them a higher center of gravity than ordinary vehicles, which increases the risk of rollover when direction is changed suddenly. The rollover risk of this type of vehicle is much higher than that of other vehicle types.
Therefore, we recommend that the driver and passengers wear seat belts. In the event of a rollover, the risk of death is higher for passengers who are not wearing seat belts.
The driver can take measures to reduce the risk of rollover. Avoid sharp turns and abrupt maneuvers whenever possible. Do not place heavy loads on the roof rails. Never modify the vehicle.
WARNING
The risk of rollover for commercial vehicles is much higher than for other types of vehicles. To avoid tipping over or losing control:
- Take corners more slowly than you would in a passenger vehicle.
- Avoid sharp turns and sudden maneuvers.
- Do not make any modifications to the vehicle that may raise its center of gravity.
- Maintain proper tire pressure.
- Do not place heavy loads on the roof.
WARNING
In the event of a rollover, the risk of death is higher for passengers who do not wear their seat belts. Make sure all passengers fasten their seat belts.
