Driving Your Vehicle

Are you planning to tow a trailer?

~1min read

If you decide to tow a trailer, keep the following points in mind:

  • Consider using a sway control device. You can obtain information about this type of device from the trailer dealer.
  • Do not tow trailers with your vehicle during the first 2,000 km (1,200 miles) to allow the engine to break in properly. Failure to follow this instruction may seriously damage the engine or transmission.
  • When towing a trailer, we recommend contacting an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for more information about necessary additional equipment, such as a towing kit, etc.
  • Always drive at a moderate speed (below 100 km/h) or observe the speed limit when towing a trailer.
  • When driving down steep slopes, never exceed the 70 km/h speed limit for towing, or the speed limit, whichever is lower.
  • Carefully review the weight and load limits specified on the following pages.
