Driving with a Trailer
Towing a trailer requires some driving experience. Before setting out, you should become familiar with your trailer. Get used to the handling and braking with the trailer's weight. Always keep in mind that the vehicle you are driving is longer and less responsive than when driving alone.
Before departure, check the hitch system and trailer platform, safety chains, electrical connectors, lights, tires, and brakes.
During the trip, periodically check that the cargo is securely fastened and that the trailer lights and brakes are functioning normally.
Range
When towing a trailer, maintain a safe following distance of at least twice the normal distance from vehicles ahead of you.
This can help you avoid situations that require sudden braking and sharp turns.
exceeding
You must allow a greater distance when passing while towing a trailer.
In addition, due to the greater length of the vehicle, you need to travel farther ahead of the passed vehicle before returning to your lane.
Provide Regression
Hold the bottom of the steering wheel with one hand. Then move your hand left to turn the trailer left, and right to turn it right.
Always reverse slowly and, if possible, have someone guide you.
turns
When towing a trailer, make wider turns than usual. This will prevent your trailer from striking curbs, road signs, trees, or other objects located at the edge of the road. Avoid sharp or sudden maneuvers. Signal your turns in advance.
