Height Adjustment (Front Seat Belt)

The upper anchor point of the seat belt can be set in one of 3 possible positions for maximum comfort and safety.

Select a height so that the seat belt anchor is not positioned too close to the neck.

The shoulder portion of the belt must be adjusted so that the belt passes across the center of the chest and the middle of the collarbone on the shoulder closer to the door, and not across the neck of the occupant.

To adjust the height of the upper belt anchor position, lower or raise the adjuster to the appropriate position.

To raise the belt anchor height adjuster, pull it upward (1). To lower it, hold the release button (2) pressed and move the adjuster (3) downward.

Release the button, and the adjuster will remain in the selected position. Try to move it downward to make sure it is securely locked.

WARNING

• Make sure the belt anchor height adjuster is locked at the correct height. Never position the shoulder belt across the neck or face.

Improper positioning of the seat belts may result in serious injury in the event of a traffic accident.
• If the seat belts are not replaced after a traffic accident, belts that may have been damaged in the accident may not provide protection in another collision, which may result in injury or death. After a traffic accident, replace the seat belts at the first opportunity.

WARNING

The lap portion of the seat belt must be positioned as low as possible on the hips, not on the waist. If positioned too high on the waist, the risk of injury in a collision increases. Do not place both hands under or over the belt. One hand must be above the belt and the other below it, as shown in the illustration. Never place the belt under the hand that is closer to the adjacent door.

When a passenger in the rear center seat uses the seat belt, use the buckle marked CENTER.
