Speedometer

The speedometer shows the vehicle speed.

It is graduated in miles per hour (mph) and/or kilometers per hour (km/h).

Tachometer

The tachometer shows the approximate engine speed in revolutions per minute (rpm).

Use the tachometer to select the correct gear shift points to prevent engine stalling or operation at excessive engine speed.

If the door is open and you do not start the engine within one minute, the tachometer needle may move slightly toward the oN position with the engine off. This is normal and does not affect tachometer accuracy after the engine is started.

Coolant temperature gauge

This gauge shows the engine coolant temperature when the ignition switch is in the oN position.

Stop driving if the engine overheats. If the engine overheats, refer to the "If the Engine Overheats" item in Section 6.

Before adding coolant to the coolant reservoir, wait until the engine has cooled down.

Fuel level gauge

The fuel gauge shows the approximate fuel level in the fuel tank. Fuel tank capacity is specified in Section 8. In addition to the fuel gauge, the vehicle is equipped with a low fuel warning light, which illuminates when the fuel tank is almost empty.

On slopes or curves, the fuel gauge needle may fluctuate due to fuel movement in the tank. In this case, the low fuel warning light may flash or illuminate continuously earlier than usual.

WARNING

- Fuel gauge

Running out of fuel may endanger the occupants of the vehicle.

When the low fuel warning light illuminates, or the fuel gauge needle approaches the E mark, stop to refuel as soon as possible.

Running out of fuel may cause engine misfires and may overload the catalytic converter.

Odometer (km)

The odometer shows the total distance the vehicle has traveled.

It can also be useful for determining when to perform periodic maintenance.

The odometer readings are always displayed until the display is turned off.

On-Board Computer

The trip computer is a microcomputer-controlled driver information system that displays driving-related information when the ignition switch is in the ON position. All stored driving information (except the odometer) is reset if the battery is disconnected.

Trip odometer (km)

TRIP A: Trip odometer A

TRIP B: Trip odometer B

In this mode, the display shows the distance driven since the trip odometer was last reset.

Display range: 0.0 to 9999.9 km (0.0 - 9999.9 miles).

Pressing and holding the TRIP button for more than 1 second while the display is in trip odometer mode (TRIP A or TRIP B) resets the trip odometer to 0.0.

Distance available with fuel remaining in tank (km)

In this mode, the trip computer shows the estimated distance the vehicle can travel with the fuel remaining in the tank, calculated from the fuel level and fuel consumption. If this value is less than 50 km (30 miles), the display shows a blank line (---).

Display range: 50 to 999 km (30 - 999 miles).

Average fuel economy (L/100 km)

In this mode, the trip computer calculates the average fuel consumption based on the amount of fuel consumed and the distance driven since the last reset.

The total amount of fuel consumed is determined based on fuel consumption data received by the computer.

Optimum calculation accuracy is achieved when driving more than 50 m (0.03 miles).

Pressing and holding the TRIP button for more than 1 second while the display is in average fuel economy mode resets the reading to zero (--.-).

If the vehicle speed exceeds 1 km/h after refueling with more than 6 L of fuel, the average fuel economy reading is reset (--.-).

Instant fuel economy (L/100 km)

In this mode, the instant fuel consumption is calculated every 2 seconds based on the distance driven and the fuel injection volume.

Average speed (km/h)

In this mode, the average speed of the vehicle since the last reset is determined.

Even when the vehicle is stationary, the average speed calculation continues while the engine is running.

Pressing and holding the TRIP button for more than 1 second while the display is in average speed mode resets the reading to zero (---).

Travel time

In this mode, the display shows the total elapsed driving time since the last reset.

Even when the vehicle is stationary, the driving time continues to count while the engine is running.

Display range: 00:00 to 99:59.

Pressing and holding the TRIP button for more than 1 second while the display is in driving time mode resets the reading to zero (00:00).

Outside Temperature

In this mode, the outside air temperature is displayed.

Measurement range: -40 °C to 80 °C.

To change the outside air temperature display units (from °C to °F), press and hold the TRIP button for more than 1 second in this mode.

ECO mode ON/OFF

• Automatic transmission

In this mode, the ECO indicator on the instrument cluster can be turned on or off. If the TRIP button is pressed and held for more than 1 second with ECO mode on, "eco off" appears on the display and the ECO indicator turns off while driving. To show the ECO indicator again, press and hold the TRIP button for more than 1 second in eco off mode. "eco on" will then appear on the display.
If the TRIP button is pressed for less than 1 second in ECO mode, the display switches to the trip odometer.

• Manual transmission

In this mode, the gear shift indicator can be turned on or off.

When eco off is selected on the trip computer, the manual transmission gear shift indicator will not be displayed.

NOTE

• If the vehicle is on an uneven surface or the battery has been disconnected, the function that determines the distance available with fuel remaining in the tank may operate inaccurately.
The trip computer may not detect refueling if the amount added is less than 6 L.
• Fuel economy (if equipped) and the distance available with fuel remaining in the tank may vary depending on driving conditions, driving style and vehicle condition.
• The distance to empty is an estimated value of the permissible driving distance. This value may differ from the actual distance available.

Road ice warning indicator (if equipped)

When the outside air temperature drops to approximately 4 °C or below with the ignition ON, the snowflake symbol will flash for 10 seconds, then remain on, and an audible warning will sound at the same time.

NOTE

If the road ice warning activates while driving, drive the vehicle with great care and caution, avoiding excessive speed, rapid acceleration, sudden braking, sharp turns, etc.
