WARNING

Wear appropriate footwear when driving. Unsuitable footwear (high heels, ski boots, etc.) may prevent you from operating the brake, accelerator, and clutch pedals (if equipped).

1. Keep the electronic key with you or place it somewhere in the vehicle.
2. Make sure the parking brake is properly applied.
3. Manual transaxle: Fully depress the clutch pedal and shift the transaxle to the neutral position. Depress the brake and clutch pedals fully.
Automatic transaxle: Move the shift lever to P (Park). Fully depress the brake pedal.
The engine can also be started with the shift lever in N (Neutral).
4. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
5. In very cold weather (below -18 °C / 0 °F), or if the vehicle has not been used for several days, let the engine warm up without pressing the accelerator pedal.
Regardless of engine temperature, do not press the accelerator pedal while starting the engine.
• Even if the electronic key is inside the vehicle but is located far from you, the engine may not start.
• If the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ACC position or higher and one of the doors is open, the system checks for the presence of the electronic key. If the electronic key is not in the vehicle, the indicator will flash "предупреждение "Key is not in vehicle" ("Ключа нет в автомобиле")." or the warning "Key is not in vehicle" will appear on the LCD display.

If all doors are closed, a buzzer will sound for 5 seconds. The indicator (or message on the display) turns off when the vehicle is driven. Always keep the electronic key with you.

WARNING

The engine will start only if the electronic key is inside the vehicle.

Never allow children or other persons who are not familiar with the vehicle to touch the ENGINE START/STOP button and related components.
