Maintenance Schedule for Normal Driving Conditions

To ensure good engine performance and reduce exhaust emissions, perform the following maintenance items. To maintain the warranty, keep receipts from all emission control service facilities. If maintenance is based on both mileage and time, perform the maintenance at whichever condition occurs first.

*1 : Adjust (replace if necessary) the drive belt for the generator, power steering pump, coolant pump, and air conditioning compressor (if equipped).
*2 : Check the engine oil level and check for leaks every 500 km (350 miles) or before a long trip.
*3 : For your convenience, replacement may be performed before the specified interval, when worn, during repair, or during maintenance of other vehicle components.
*4 : If there is excessive valve noise and/or engine vibration, inspect (adjust if necessary). This work must be performed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
*5 : The fuel filter is considered a maintenance-free component, but it is recommended that it be inspected periodically. The maintenance schedule depends on fuel quality. If serious problems occur (such as restricted fuel flow, uncontrolled sudden increase in fuel supply, loss of power, or difficult engine starting), replace the filter immediately regardless of the maintenance schedule and consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for additional information.
*6 : When adding coolant, use only deionized or soft water in your vehicle, and never add hard water to the factory-filled coolant. Incorrect coolant may cause serious engine malfunction or damage.
*7 : Inspect the drive belt tensioner, idler pulley, and generator pulley; repair or replace if necessary.
*8 : If high-quality gasoline meeting European fuel standard (EN228) or equivalent standards is not available, it is recommended to use fuel additives. Add one bottle of fuel additive to the fuel tank every 5,000 km of driving.

Fuel additives are available from an authorized HYUNDAI dealer, who can also provide instructions for their use. Do not mix fuel additives of different brands.
