Checking brake fluid level

Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir periodically. The level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the side of the reservoir. Before removing the reservoir cap and adding brake fluid, thoroughly clean the area around the cap to prevent brake fluid contamination.

The level should be between the F (Full) and L (Low) marks. The level will decrease as mileage increases. This is related to the condition of the brake pads and is not a sign of malfunction. If the fluid level is too low, have an authorized HYUNDAI dealer inspect the brake system.

Use only recommended brake fluid. (Refer to

"Recommended Lubricants and Fluid Capacities" in Section 8).

Do not mix different types of brake fluid.

WARNING

- Brake fluid

Handle brake fluid carefully when replacing or adding it. Do not allow brake fluid to get into your eyes. If brake fluid gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with plenty of running tap water. Then seek medical examination of the eyes as soon as possible.

WARNING

- Brake fluid leakage

If brake fluid must be added frequently, the vehicle must be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Use only recommended brake fluid brands. A few drops of mineral oil (such as engine oil) entering the brake system of your vehicle can damage system components.
