- The fabric quarter windows and fabric top are designed only to protect against the elements. Do not rely on them to contain passengers inside the vehicle or to protect against injury in a collision. Always remember to wear your seat belts.
- Make sure your hands and fingers are not in any pinch points when installing and removing the soft top. The assist lift mechanism and bows can cause serious injury if fingers or hands become caught between them.
If the temperature is below 72°F (24°C) and/or the top has been folded for a period of time, the top will appear tight when you raise it, making it difficult to fit. This is caused by the natural shrinkage of the vinyl or acrylic fabric top material.
Move the vehicle to a warm location. Pull steadily on the top fabric. The vinyl will stretch back to its original size, and then the top can be installed. If the temperature is 41°F (5°C) or below, do not attempt to lower the top or fold the rear or side windows.
- Do not run the fabric top through an automatic car wash. Window scratching and wax buildup may occur.
- Do not lower the top when the temperature is below 41°F (5°C). Damage to the top may result.
- Do not move the vehicle until the top has either been fully attached to the windshield frame or fully lowered.
- Do not fully lower the top with the windows installed. Damage to the window and top may occur.
- For important information on cleaning and caring for your vehicle's fabric top.
- Do not use any tools (screwdrivers or similar) to pry or press on any of the clamps, clips or latches securing the soft top. Do not force or pry the soft top frame when opening or closing. This may damage the top.
Failure to observe these precautions may result in internal water damage, stains or mildew on the top material:
- It is recommended that the top be free of water before opening. When operating the top, opening a door or lowering a window while the top is wet may allow water to enter the vehicle interior.
- Careless handling and storage of the soft top may damage the seals, allowing water to leak into the vehicle interior.
- The soft top must be properly positioned to ensure a watertight seal. Incorrect installation may allow water to enter the vehicle interior.
