Automatic Window Up/Down

~2min read

Press down or pull up the power window switch briefly to the second detent (6) to fully open or close the window, even after the switch is released. To stop the window at a desired position while it is operating, pull up or press down and release the switch.

If the power window does not operate normally with the auto up/down function, the auto power window system must be reset as follows:

1. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button twice to the ON position.

2. Close the driver's and passenger's windows, and continue pulling up the driver's power window switch for at least 1 second after the window is fully closed.

Automatic Reverse (for Auto Up/Down Window)

If the upward movement of the window is blocked by an object or part of the body, the window will detect resistance and stop moving up. The window will then lower approximately 11.8 in. (30 cm) to allow the object to be cleared.

The distance may vary depending on the size or position of the window. If the window detects resistance while the power window switch is continuously pulled up, the window will stop moving up, then move down approximately 1 in. (2.5 cm).

If the power window switch is pulled and held continuously again within 5 seconds after the window has been lowered by the auto up/down function, the auto reverse function will not operate.

The automatic reverse function is only active when the auto up function is used by fully pulling up the switch. The automatic reverse function will not work if the window is raised using the middle position of the power window switch.

WARNING

Always check for obstacles before closing any window to avoid injury or vehicle damage. If an object less than 0.16 in. (4 mm) in diameter is caught between the window glass and the upper window channel, the automatic reverse window may not detect resistance and will not stop or reverse direction.

WARNING

The automatic reverse function is not activated when the power window system is reset. Make sure hands, other body parts or objects are clear of the window before closing to avoid injury or vehicle damage.

CAUTION

When the window or door is frozen in very low winter temperatures, the window may not operate properly during one-touch closing. This may occur while driving over bumps, such as speed bumps, due to vibration. Because the window may incorrectly detect an object caught in the window, close the window manually if possible.
