The optimal seat position set by the driver can be stored in the Power Seat with IMS SW, which allows the seat position set by the driver to be recalled. Memory playback is prohibited while driving for safety reasons, and it has an emergency stop function for recall and transfer operation. Also input specification
IGN2 input. IGN switch input is determined by the local "IGN2" switch.
SEAT MANUAL switch: SEAT input
SLIDE front/rear, RR manual switch. Operates the SEAT slide motor forward or backward.
RECLINE front/rear, RR switch. Operates the seat recline motor forward or backward.
Front/rear HEIGHT manual switch UP/DOWN. Operates the front/rear SEAT height motor up or down.
RR height manual switch UP/DOWN. Operates the RR SEAT height motor up or down.
SEAT position sensor (pulse signal). Measures the amount of movement of slide, recline, front/rear height and RR height motors.
"P" position switch. Detects the "P" position of the SHIFT LEVER. Memory storage and easy access function are not permitted when entering or exiting the vehicle in a position other than "P".
Door switch. Detects that the driver door is opening.
IPM KEY signal. This signal is received by the IPM to determine the KEY status.
Local KEY IN switch. Detects whether the KEY is inserted or not.
Speed. This signal is received to determine vehicle speed by the IPM.
IMS switch
SET switch. Enables storing the SEAT position set by the driver.
1, 2 switch. Stores and recalls the SEAT position set by the driver.
Input switch delay 40 ms: SLIDE, RECLINE, front/rear HEIGHT switch, RR HEIGHT switch, "P" position switch, SPEED switch, KEY IN, LOCAL KEY IN, DR DOOR switch, IGN2 switch
IGN switch input is determined by the local "IGN2" switch.
±10% for TIME; without error indication ±50 ms; for TIME not exceeding 500 ms
The specified time in each function does not include the CHATTERING control time, which starts from the moment the RR input point changes.

Operation
Control specification
Manual Operation
MANUAL seat control: The seat is controlled by the MANUAL switch. SEAT input. SLIDE, RECLINE, front/rear HEIGHT and RR HEIGHT are available for manual control when IGN2 is ON, regardless of ECU B+ being OFF.
MEMORY storage operation
Memory storage permission: This process is permitted if IGN2 switch = ON, "P" position switch = ON, and SPEED input is high (less than 3 km/h). 1 BUZZER output is generated from the IMS when "SET = 1" DATA is received.
Memory storage operation: When CAN communication DATA ("1") from MEM_1 or MEM_2 is received, generated by the 1 or 2 switch, the IMS generates 2 BUZZER outputs and stores the current seat position. (The IMS switch sends the storage command only if 1 or 2 switch inputs are generated within 5 seconds of the SET switch OFF->ON; the storage permission mode is canceled if more than 5 seconds have passed.)
Memory storage requirements: Storage is not permitted or is canceled unless all of the following requirements are met.
Ignition ON
"P" position switch is ON
Vehicle speed input received from the IPM is high (less than 3 km/h)
Less than 5 seconds have passed since the SET switch changed to ON (detected by the IMS switch)
The SET memory must be available for memory storage. Storage is not performed for the number of SET operations. (However, each memory switch operation performs only 1 memory storage action.)
If a MEMORY command is received during easy access function or memory playback operation, activation is stopped and the current position is stored. If the command is received while the SEAT MANUAL switch is being used, it is stored at the position where the memory command was received.
Memory playback: When "1" is received via DATA PL_1 or PL_2 CAN communication, transmitted by the IMS switch and generated by the 1 or 2 switch during operation, 1 BUZZER is generated and the SEAT position is automatically controlled, returning to the position stored in MEMORY.
Anti-reproduction: Memory playback is not permitted unless the following condition is met. The IMS will play back memory only if all , andare satisfied, and eitheroris satisfied."P" position switch is ONVehicle speed input received from the IPM is high (less than 3 km/h)SEAT MANUAL switch is not operating.Switch 1 and 2 of the IMS switch is ON when the driver door is open or within 30 seconds after the driver door is closed.Ignition ON
Memory playback stop: Memory playback stops unless all of the following conditions are met.
The "P" position switch of the local switch is in the PARKING position.
Vehicle speed input received from the IPM is high (less than 3 km/h)
Target engine position not reached
The MANUAL SEAT switch does not operate. The BUZZER output is used to let the USER know that playback is being performed by another DEVICE, regardless of whether the MANUAL SEAT switch is ON.
SET switch does not operate
Other
If memory is not stored, playback will not be activated by switch 1 or 2, and the BUZZER will sound.
The most recently received signal will be played back if other DATA (playback command) is received during memory playback.
If the SEAT MANUAL switch input is used during seat position playback, activation must be stopped completely.
If a SEAT ERROR occurs during operation, the memory of the corresponding motor is cleared.
Motor Control
To prevent overlapping of the inrush current during drive motor operation, automatic drive motor control will delay driving by 100 ms each, and the priority is as follows: SLIDE > RECLINE > Front Height > Rear Height
The drive motors operate in the following order during the playback process, and the DELAY TIME for each motor is as follows.TIME value for each continuously operating motor (excluding operation with the MANUAL switch): SLIDE: 20 seconds, RECLINE: 35 seconds, Front Height: 10 seconds, Rear Height: 15 seconds
Motor Control in Reverse Direction. If motor drive in the reverse direction is required during operation of the easy access function or the playback process, driving in the current direction is stopped immediately, and movement in the reverse direction will start after 100 ms.
If the difference between the distance from the stored playback position and the current position is below the nominal measurement, the motor does not operate regardless of receiving playback DATA. * SLIDE, RECLINE, Front Height, Rear Height: 12 EDGE (6 PULSE)
Operation stops when the motor reaches the target position during the easy access function or the playback process.
If the "IPM KEY IN" signal from the IPM and the "LOCAL KEY IN" signal change from "LOW" (KEY IN) to "HIGH" (KEY OFF) when the key is removed, the SEAT POSITION moves 50 mm rearward from the KEY OUT position.
If the "IPM KEY IN" signal from the IPM or the "LOCAL KEY IN" signal changes from "HIGH" (KEY OFF) to "LOW" (KEY IN) when the key is inserted, the seat moves to the KEY OUT position.
Prohibition and stopping of easy access operations. The following requirements are determined and monitored by the IMS. If one of the following conditions is met during anti-operation or the operation process, it is stopped.
"P" position switch is not ON (If the "P" position switch is turned OFF during operation, the operation is terminated.)
Vehicle "SPEED" DATA transmitted from the IPM is LOW (above 3 km/h)
MANUAL SEAT switch is in operation
Playback command is received during easy access operation
"AUTO_SET" DATA transmitted from the IMS switch is "OFF". (If "AUTO_SET" changes during operation, the operation is terminated.)
SET message transmitted from the IMS switch is "1" during easy access operation.
If control is stopped during reverse movement, the action is suspended without further movement. On return, it moves only the same distance it previously moved in reverse.
If the MANUAL switch input is operated during or after reverse movement, it will move to the KEY OUT position during easy access controlled by KEY IN.
Driver seat position memory recall conditions in the vehicle
MANUAL switch operates above Key IN
Memory playback in operation
The LIMIT position is set automatically as follows, for SLIDE, RECLINE, rear right height switch, and front/rear LIMIT switch.
Control is stopped immediately and the position before 6 PULSE is set as the movement LIMIT if more than 6 PULSE is not generated within 2 seconds during initial operation with the MANUAL switch or with the easy access function after battery installation. (The LIMIT position in the reverse direction is the same as above.) However, the LIMIT position for front/rear height and rear right height is set if more than 6 PULSE is not generated within 1 second.
If a virtual LIMIT is set, MEMORY playback does not operate beyond the LIMIT to prevent motor damage from mechanical LOCK.
If PULSE is correctly input beyond the LIMIT by MANUAL operation or by the easy access function with a previously set LIMIT, the LIMIT position is updated.
POSITION ERROR is monitored during easy access control, the playback process, and control with the MANUAL switch of each motor.
ERROR caused by PULSE is not input. The corresponding motor output is stopped if an ERROR is detected during playback and easy access operation. The corresponding motor output is stopped if an ERROR is detected in MANUAL mode.
The SEAT Vcc sensor detects for a full 40 ms at a voltage below 1 V. => Recovery if the SEAT Vcc sensor voltage exceeds 7 V. If the SEAT Vcc sensor ERROR is detected during playback and easy access, all operating SEAT motors are stopped. (BUZZER output does not operate.)
ERROR Monitoring. If an ERROR is detected as shown above, it is considered to be caused by a broken WIRING HARNESS or a sensor malfunction, and is monitored as follows.
The BUZZER output operates during reception of the save and playback command regardless of the occurrence of an ERROR.
The one-touch operation and memory playback are suspended. The function can be re-activated using the MEMORY command after the engine SLIDE fault has been repaired, as follows. (When the SLIDE sensor fault is repaired, the one-touch function is available.) SEAT: 6 pulses are correctly input due to a FAULT caused by the position sensor of the motor. Press and hold the MANUAL switch for 2 seconds (SLIDE, TILT) / 1 second (front height, rear height, rear right height).
Memory playback, easy access function (user option - default: easy access function control), LIMIT setting, ERROR detection and monitoring. Seat position detection: the seat position is determined relative to, not by, the absolute position.
