Checking the Brake/Clutch Fluid Level
.png)
Check the fluid level in the reservoir periodically. The fluid level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the side of the reservoir.
Before removing the reservoir cap and adding brake/clutch fluid, thoroughly clean the area around the reservoir cap to prevent contamination of the brake/clutch fluid.
If the level is low, add fluid up to the MAX level. The level will drop as mileage accumulates. This is normal and related to brake pad wear.
If the fluid level is too low, we recommend having the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Use only the specified brake fluid.
Never mix different types of fluid.
WARNING: Brake/clutch fluid leakage.
If the brake/clutch system requires frequent fluid top-ups, we recommend having the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
CAUTION - Brake/Clutch Fluid
Handle brake/clutch fluid carefully when replacing and topping up. Do not allow it to contact your eyes. If brake/clutch fluid contacts the eyes, immediately flush them with plenty of clean tap water. Have your eyes examined by a doctor as soon as possible.
CAUTION
Do not allow brake/clutch fluid to contact the vehicle body paint, as it will damage the paint. Brake/clutch fluid that has been exposed to air for an extended period should never be used, as its quality cannot be guaranteed. Dispose of it properly. Do not fill with an unsuitable fluid. A few drops of mineral-based oil, such as engine oil, in the brake/clutch system can damage the brake/clutch system parts.
