Safety Features of Your Vehicle
Headrest (for rear seat)
In this manual: Safety Features of Your Vehicle
~1min read

The rear seat(s) are equipped with headrests at all seating positions for occupant safety and comfort.
In addition to providing comfort for passengers, the headrest also helps protect the head and neck in the event of a collision.
WARNING
- For maximum effectiveness in a crash, adjust the head restraint so that the center of the head restraint is at the same height as the center of gravity of the occupant's head. For most people, the center of gravity of the head is approximately at the height of the top of the eyes. Also, adjust the head restraint as close to the head as possible. For this reason, using a cushion that keeps the body away from the seatback is not recommended.
- Do not drive the vehicle with the head restraints removed. Serious injury to the occupant may occur in a crash. When properly adjusted, head restraints can help protect against serious neck injuries.
CAUTION
If there are no passengers in the rear seats, adjust the headrest height to the lowest position. A rear seat headrest may reduce visibility of the rear area.
