The fuel gauge indicates the approximate amount of fuel remaining in the fuel tank. The fuel tank capacity is specified in chapter 8. The fuel gauge is supplemented by a low fuel warning light, which illuminates when the fuel tank is nearly empty.

On inclines or curves, the fuel gauge pointer may fluctuate, or the low fuel warning light may illuminate earlier than usual due to fuel movement in the tank.

✽ WARNING - Fuel gauge

Running out of fuel may expose the vehicle occupants to danger. You must stop and obtain additional fuel as soon as possible after the warning light illuminates or when the gauge pointer approaches the "E (Empty)" mark.

CAUTION - Low fuel

Avoid driving with an extremely low fuel level. Running out of fuel may cause engine misfire and damage to the catalytic converter.

✽ NOTICE

The fuel indication may be inaccurate if the vehicle is on a slope.
