Hood Opening

1. Pull the hood release lever to unlatch the hood. The hood should pop up slightly.

Open the hood after turning off the engine on a level surface. For vehicles with a dual clutch transmission/intelligent variable transmission, shift the shift lever to P (Park). For manual transmission, shift to 1st (First) gear or R (Reverse). Apply the parking brake.

2. Stand at the front of the vehicle, lift the hood slightly, press the secondary latch (1) inside the hood, center and lift the hood (2).

3. Pull the support rod out of the clip.

4. Hold the hood open with the support rod.

WARNING - Hot Components

Grasp the support rod by the rubber-covered area. The rubber will help protect your hand from burns from hot metal when the engine is hot.
