Windshield Defrosting and Defogging

WARNING - Windshield Heating

Do not use or Do not use the A/C mode in extremely humid weather. The difference between the outside air temperature and the windshield may cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, resulting in reduced visibility. In this situation, set the mode selection to position and adjust the fan speed to a lower speed.

• For maximum defrosting, set the temperature control to the full right/hot position and adjust the fan speed to the maximum speed.
• If you want warm air on the floor while defrosting or defogging, set the mode to the floor defrost position.
• Before driving, remove all snow and ice from the windshield, rear window, outside rearview mirrors, and all side windows.
• Clear all snow and ice from the hood and the air intake grille under the hood to improve the efficiency of the heater and defroster and reduce the possibility of fogging on the inside of the windshield.
