Opening the Trunk

1. Make sure the shift lever is in P (Park, for dual clutch transmission/intelligent variable transmission) or 1st gear or R (Reverse, for manual transmission) and set the parking brake.

2. Then perform one of the following:

- Press and hold the Remote or Smart Trunk release button on the key for more than one second.
- Press the button on the trunk itself with the Smart Key in your possession.
- Use the mechanical key (if equipped with a key hole).

• To open the trunk from inside the vehicle, pull the trunk lid release lever.

After the trunk is opened and then closed, the trunk locks automatically.

✽ NOTICE

In cold and humid climates, the trunk lock and latch mechanisms may not operate properly due to freezing conditions.

WARNING

The trunk lid swings upward. Make sure that no objects or people are near the rear of the vehicle when opening the trunk.

CAUTION

Make sure to close the trunk before driving the vehicle. Damage to attached equipment may occur if the trunk is not closed before driving.
