A warning message will appear on the LCD display when the hood is open.

The warning chime will sound when the vehicle is driven at or above 3 km/h with the hood open.

WARNING! Unlatched Hood

Always double-check to make sure the hood is securely latched before driving. If it is not latched, the hood may open while the vehicle is in motion, causing a complete loss of visibility that may lead to an accident.

CAUTION

Before closing the hood, make sure that all obstructions are removed from the engine compartment and surrounding body sheet metal. Closing the hood with an obstruction in place may damage the engine, sheet metal, or the objects in contact.

WARNING

The support rod must be fully inserted into its hole whenever you are inspecting the engine compartment. Otherwise, the hood may fall and cause injury.
