Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least three minutes before starting work.
  2. Remove the front seat assembly. (Refer to Group BD)
  3. Loosen the two STPS screws, then remove the STPS after disconnecting the STPS connector.

Installation
Make sure the harness wires are routed so that they are not pinched and do not interfere with other components.
  1. Remove the ignition key from the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least three minutes before starting work.
  3. Install the STPS using the two screws.
  4. Install the front seat assembly. (Refer to Group BD)
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. After installing the seat track position sensor, verify system operation: Turn the ignition on. The SRS warning light should illuminate for approximately six seconds and then turn off.
