The photo sensor is located in the center of the defrost nozzle. The photo sensor contains a photovoltaic (sensitive to sunlight) diode. Solar radiation received by its light-receiving part generates an electromotive force. The force is proportional to the amount of radiation received, and is transmitted to the automatic temperature control module so that solar radiation compensation is performed.
