The ambient air temperature sensor is located at the front of the condenser and detects the ambient air temperature. It is a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor; its resistance increases at lower temperatures and decreases at higher temperatures. The sensor output is used for discharge air temperature control, door control, blower motor speed control, blend mode control, and in-vehicle humidity control.
