The compressor is the power unit of the A/C system. It is located on the side of the cylinder block and driven by the drive belt from the engine. The compressor changes low-pressure, low-temperature gaseous refrigerant into high-pressure, high-temperature gaseous refrigerant. Variable Displacement Compressor. The compressor has a swash plate that rotates to reciprocate the pistons, which compress the refrigerant. The variable swash plate compressor adjusts the swash plate angle to change the refrigerant displacement. It provides precise cooling capacity control according to the cabin and driving conditions. The internal control variable swash plate compressor changes the swash plate angle using the MCV (mechanical control valve) in response to fluctuations in suction pressure. The external control variable swash plate compressor changes the swash plate angle using the ECV (electronic control valve) in response to an electrical signal from the heater and A/C control unit. This provides stable temperature control and improves driving comfort. ECV Control Circuit
