- Install in the reverse order of removal. TCM mounting bolt: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N·m TCM bracket mounting bolt/nut: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N·m
- TCM GROUND CIRCUIT INSPECTION: Measure the resistance between the TCM and chassis ground, using the rear of the TCM harness connector as a TCM side check point. If a malfunction is detected, repair it.
Specification: Below 1 Ω
- TCM CONNECTOR INSPECTION: Disconnect the TCM connector and visually inspect the ground terminals on the TCM side and harness side for bent pins or poor contact pressure. If a problem is found, repair it.
- If no malfunction is found in steps 1 and 2, the TCM may be faulty. If so, make sure there are no DTCs before replacing the TCM with a new one, then recheck the vehicle. If DTCs were detected, inspect them first before replacing the TCM.
- RECHECK ORIGINAL TCM: Install the original TCM (which may be faulty) into a known good vehicle and check the vehicle. If the problem recurs, replace the original TCM with a new one. If the problem does not occur, it is an intermittent problem (refer to 'Inspection Procedure' in the 'Basic Inspection Procedure' section).
