Check the pads for excessive wear, the discs for runout and wear, and the calipers for fluid leakage.
Front Brake
Front Brake Disc Thickness Inspection
Inspect the brake pads for wear and discoloration.
Inspect the brake disc for damage and cracks.
Remove all rust and contamination from the surface and measure the disc thickness at no fewer than 8 points at equal distances (5 mm) from the outer edge of the brake disc. Front brake disc thickness Standard: 23 mm (0.906 in.) Service limit: 21 mm (0.827 in.) Runout: less than 0.005 mm (0.0002 in.)
If wear exceeds the limit, replace the discs and pads as a set on both the left and right sides of the vehicle.
Check pad wear. Measure the pad thickness and replace the pad if it is less than the specified value. Pad thickness Standard: 10.5 mm (0.413 in.) Maximum service limit: 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.)
Make sure grease is applied to the sliding contact points, as well as to the abutment and metal backing, and check for damage.
Position a dial indicator approximately 5 mm (0.2 in.) from the outer edge of the brake disc and measure the disc runout.
Brake disc runout Limit: 0.04 mm (0.0016 in.) or less (new)
If brake disc runout exceeds the limit, replace the disc, then measure the runout again.
If runout does not exceed the limit, install the brake disc rotated 180°, then inspect the brake disc runout again.
If runout cannot be corrected by changing the brake disc position, replace the brake disc.

Rear Brake
Rear brake disc thickness inspection
Inspect the brake pads for wear and discoloration.
Inspect the brake disc for damage and cracks.
Remove all rust and contamination from the surface and measure the disc thickness at no fewer than 8 points at equal distances (5 mm) from the outer edge of the brake disc. Brake disc thickness Standard: 10 mm (0.393 in.) Maximum service limit: 8.4 mm (0.331 in.) Runout: less than 0.005 mm (0.0002 in.)
If wear exceeds the limit, replace the discs and pads as a set on both the left and right sides of the vehicle.
Inspect the pad wear. Measure the pad thickness and replace the pad if it is less than the specified value. Pad thickness Standard: 10 mm (0.394 in.) Maximum operating limit: 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.)
Make sure grease is applied to the sliding contact points, as well as to the abutment and metal backing, and check for damage.
Position a dial indicator approximately 5 mm (0.2 in.) from the outer edge of the brake disc and measure the disc runout.
Brake disc runout Limit: 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.) or less (new)
If brake disc runout exceeds the limit, replace the disc, then measure the runout again.
If runout does not exceed the limit, install the brake disc rotated 180°, then inspect the brake disc runout again.
If runout cannot be corrected by changing the brake disc position, replace the brake disc.

Replacement
Front Brake Pads
Remove the front wheel and tire.
Loosen the guide pin bolt (B) and rotate the caliper body (A) upward so it does not interfere.
Replace the pad shim (D), pad retainers (C), and brake pads (B) in the caliper carrier (A).
Push the piston into the caliper body using SST (09581-11000).
Place the caliper body (A) on the caliper bracket and tighten the guide rod bolt (B).
Tightening torque: 21.6 ~ 31 N·m
Install the front wheel and tire.
Tightening torque: 88.3 ~ 108 N·m
Remove the front wheel and tire.
Loosen the guide pin bolt (B) and remove the rear caliper body (A).
Tightening torque: 21.6 ~ 31 N·m
Replace the pad retainers (C) and brake pads (B) in the caliper carrier (A).
Turn the caliper piston and press it in the direction of the arrow.
Place the caliper body (A) on the caliper bracket and tighten the guide rod bolt (B).
Tightening torque: 21.6 ~ 31 N·m
Assemble the caliper housing so that the piston groove (A) is aligned with the center projection of the pad (B).* Make sure the piston and pad are in full contact with each other.
Install the front wheel and tire.
Tightening torque: 88.3 ~ 108 N·m
