Repair Procedures

Removal

  1. Remove the engine compartment under cover (front).

    (See Engine and Transaxle Assembly - Under Hood)

  2. To loosen the tension, turn the drive belt tensioner (A) counterclockwise. Then remove the drive belt (B).

  3. Remove the water pump belt.

    1. Insert SST (09252-C1000) between the water pump pulley and the water pump belt.

    2. Remove the water pump belt (A) by turning the damper pulley clockwise.

Inspection

  1. Visually inspect the belt for excessive wear, frayed cords, etc.

    If any defect is found, replace the drive belt.

Installation

  1. Install the water pump belt.

    1. Insert SST (09252-C1000) between the water pump pulley and the water pump belt.

    2. Install the water pump belt (A) by turning the damper pulley clockwise.

  2. To loosen the tension, turn the drive belt tensioner (A) counterclockwise. Then install the drive belt (B).

  3. Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
