Your vehicle is equipped with an electronic engine immobilizer system to reduce the risk of unauthorized use of the vehicle.

Whenever the ENGINE START/STOP button is turned to the ON position, the immobilizer system checks whether the key is valid or not.

If the key is valid, the engine will start.

If the key is invalid, the engine will not start.

✽ NOTICE

To prevent vehicle theft, do not leave spare keys anywhere in your vehicle. Your immobilizer password is a unique customer password and must be kept secret. Do not leave this number in the vehicle.

To deactivate the immobilizer system

Turn the ENGINE START/STOP button to the ON position.

To activate the immobilizer system

Turn the ENGINE START/STOP button to the OFF position. The immobilizer system is activated automatically. Without a valid smart key for your vehicle, the engine will not start.

To prevent vehicle theft, do not leave spare keys in your vehicle.

Your immobilizer password is a unique customer password and must be kept confidential. Do not leave this number in the vehicle.

✽ NOTICE

Keep each key separately to avoid incorrect starting.

Do not place metal accessories near the smart key.

Metal accessories may interrupt the transponder signal and prevent the engine from starting.

If you need additional keys or have lost your keys, contact an authorized Kia dealer.

CAUTION - Immobilizer Damage

Do not expose the immobilizer system to moisture, static electricity, or rough handling. This may damage the immobilizer.

CAUTION - Immobilizer Modification

Do not change, modify, or adjust the immobilizer system, as this may cause the immobilizer system to malfunction.

This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s).

Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

(1) This device may not cause interference, and

(2) This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.
