WARNING
Fuel Filler Cap
- If fuel under pressure escapes from the tank, it may contact your clothing and skin, increasing the risk of fire and burns. Always loosen the fuel filler cap carefully and slowly. If fuel under pressure escapes from under the cap or you hear a hissing sound, wait until the sound stops before fully removing the fuel filler cap.
- Do not continue refueling after the fuel nozzle has automatically shut off.
- Vergewissern Sie sich immer, dass der Tankdeckel fest aufgeschraubt ist, damit im Fall eines Unfalls kein Kraftstoff auslaufen kann.
WARNING
Refueling Precautions
Vehicle fuels are flammable. Always follow the instructions below when refueling your vehicle. Failure to observe these instructions may result in serious personal injury, severe burns, or death from fire or explosion.
- Lesen und befolgen Sie alle Warnhinweise auf dem Tankstellengelände.
- Before refueling, locate the fuel emergency shut-off switch at the gas station, if available.
- Do not touch the fuel nozzle until you have touched a metal part of the vehicle, at a safe distance from the fuel filler neck and the fuel dispenser, to discharge any possible dangerous static electricity from your body.
- Do not get back into the vehicle while refueling, and do not touch or rub against objects or fabrics made of materials (polyester, satin, nylon, etc.) that can build up an electrical charge. An electrical discharge could ignite fuel vapors and quickly cause a fire. If it is necessary to get back into the vehicle during refueling, touch a metal part of the vehicle at a safe distance from the fuel filler neck and the fuel nozzle before you resume refueling, to discharge any possible dangerous static electricity.
- If you want to fill the vehicle from an approved portable fuel container, make sure to place the container on the ground before refueling. A static discharge from the container can ignite fuel vapors and cause a fire. During refueling, the portable fuel container and the vehicle must remain in contact until refueling is complete. Use only approved plastic fuel containers designed for filling with fuel.
- Do not use mobile phones while refueling a vehicle. Electrical current in the mobile phone and/or phone interference could ignite fuel vapors.
- Always turn off the engine before refueling. Sparks from electrical engine components could ignite fuel vapors and cause a fire. After refueling, make sure the fuel filler cap is properly installed and the fuel filler door is securely closed before you start the engine.
- DO NOT IGNITE matches or lighters, and DO NOT SMOKE. Do not smoke or use lighters at a filling station, and especially while refueling, do not get back into the vehicle with a lit cigarette. Fuel is highly flammable. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
- Sollte beim Tanken ein Feuer ausbrechen, entfernen Sie sich von dem Fahrzeug und Informieren Sie soft das Tankstellenpersonal und rufen Sie danach die Feuerwehr. Befolgen Sie deren Sicherheitsanweisungen.
WARNING
- Make sure to refuel your vehicle in accordance with the "Fuel Requirements" on page 1-03.
- If the fuel filler cap must be replaced, make sure to use replacement parts designed for your vehicle. An incorrect fuel filler cap can cause serious malfunctions of the fuel system and/or emission control system. For more detailed information, contact a Kia dealer/service partner.
- Do not allow fuel to contact the surface of your vehicle. Any type of fuel can damage the paint of your vehicle.
- After refueling, make sure the fuel filler cap is fully tightened to prevent fuel from spilling out in the event of an accident.
