The airbag warning lamp on the instrument panel is designed to alert you to a potential problem with your airbag - Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).

When the ignition key is turned ON, the warning lamp should illuminate for approximately 6 seconds, then go off. Have the system checked if:

  • The lamp does not illuminate briefly when you turn the ignition on.
  • The lamp remains illuminated after approximately 6 seconds.
  • The lamp illuminates while the vehicle is in motion.
  • The lamp flashes when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
