The front passenger airbag OFF indicator light comes on for approximately 4 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.

The front passenger airbag OFF indicator light also comes on when the front passenger airbag ON/OFF switch is set to the OFF position, and goes off when the front passenger airbag ON/OFF switch is set to the ON position.

CAUTION

If there is a malfunction in the front passenger airbag ON/OFF switch, the front passenger airbag OFF indicator light will not come on (the front passenger airbag ON indicator light comes on and goes off after approximately 60 seconds), and the front passenger airbag will deploy in a frontal collision even when the front passenger airbag ON/OFF switch is set to the OFF position. If this occurs, we recommend that the front passenger airbag ON/OFF switch and the SRS airbag system be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
