If your trailer is equipped with brakes, make sure they comply with the regulations of your country and are installed and operating correctly.

If the weight of your trailer exceeds the maximum allowable trailer weight without brakes, the trailer will also require its own brakes. Be sure to read and follow the trailer brake instructions so that you can install, adjust, and maintain them properly.

• Do not touch or modify the brake system.

Do not use a trailer with its own brakes unless you are absolutely sure that the brake system has been installed correctly. This is not a job for an amateur. Use an experienced, competent trailer shop for this work.
