Lost Smart Key
No more than 2 Smart Keys can be registered to one vehicle. If you lose a Smart Key, you will not be able to start the engine. You must immediately take the vehicle and the remaining key to an authorized Kia dealer (tow the vehicle if necessary) to protect against potential theft.
Smart Key Precautions
- The Smart Key will not work if one of the following occurs:
- The Smart Key is near a radio transmitter, such as a broadcasting station or airport radio, which may interfere with normal operation of the Smart Key.
- The Smart Key is near a mobile two-way radio system or cellular phone.
- A Smart Key for another vehicle is being used near your vehicle. - If the Smart Key malfunctions, you can lock and unlock the driver's door with the mechanical key. If you have problems with the Smart Key, contact an authorized Kia dealer.
- If the Smart Key is in close proximity to your cellular phone or smartphone, the signal from the Smart Key may be blocked by normal operation of your cellular phone or smartphone. This is especially important when the phone is active, such as making or receiving calls, sending or receiving text messages and/or e-mails. Do not place the Smart Key and cellular phone or smartphone in the same trouser or jacket pocket, and keep a sufficient distance between the two devices.
CAUTION - Transmitter
Keep the transmitter away from water or any liquid, as it may be damaged and not function properly.
✽ NOTICE
If the keyless entry system does not operate due to exposure to water or liquids, it is not covered by the vehicle manufacturer's warranty.
