Defroster

CAUTION

To avoid damaging the conductors bonded to the inside surface of the rear window, never use sharp objects or window cleaners containing abrasives.

NOTICE

If you want to defrost and defog the windshield, refer to "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging" on page 4-106.

Rear Window Defroster

The defroster heats the glass to remove frost, fog, and thin ice from the rear window while the engine is running.

To activate the rear window defroster, press the rear window defroster button. The rear window defroster button indicator illuminates when the defroster is on.

If heavy snow has accumulated on the rear window, clear it before operating the rear defroster.

The rear window defroster automatically turns off after approximately 20 minutes or when the ignition key is turned off. To turn off the rear window defroster manually, press the rear window defroster button again.

Outside Rearview Mirror Heaters (if equipped)

If your vehicle is equipped with outside rearview mirror heaters, they will operate simultaneously with the rear window defroster.
