Repair Procedures

Replacement

  1. Remove the transaxle assembly.

    (See Manual Transaxle System - Manual Transaxle)

    (Refer to Automatic Transmission System - Automatic Transmission)

  2. MT: Remove the flywheel.

    (See Cylinder Block - Flywheel)

    A/T: Remove the drive plate.

    (Refer to Cylinder Block - Drive Plate)

  3. Remove the rear oil seal (A).

  4. Install a new rear oil seal.

    1. Apply engine oil to the lip of the new oil seal.

    2. Using SST (09231-H1100, 09214-03100) and a hammer, drive in the oil seal until its surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.

  5. Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
