Starter Relay

Repair Procedures

Inspection

1. 1

   Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

   Remove the fuse block cover.

3. 3

   Remove the starter relay (A).

   

4. 4

   Using an ohmmeter, check the continuity between terminals (30 and 87).

   Terminal	Resistance	Tester connection
   30 - 87	1 MΩ or higher	If there is continuity between the terminals, replace the relay.

   
   

   

5. 5

   Apply 12 V to terminal 85 and ground terminal 86, then check for continuity between terminals 30 and 87.

   Terminal	Resistance	Tester connection
   30 - 87	1 Ω or less	If there is no continuity between the terminals, replace the relay.

   
   

   

6. 6

   Install the starter relay.

7. 7

   Install the fuse block cover.
