Rear Door Child-Protector Lock

~1min read
Kia Soul. Child-protector rear door lock

The child-protector lock is designed to prevent the rear doors from being opened accidentally from inside the vehicle. The child-protector locks on the rear doors should be used whenever children are in the vehicle.

The child safety lock is located on the edge of each rear door. When the child safety lock lever is in the lock position (1), the rear door will not open if the inside door handle (2) is pulled.

To lock the child safety lock, insert the key (or a screwdriver) into the hole and turn it to the lock position.

To open the rear door from inside the vehicle, unlock the child safety lock.

WARNING

Rear Door Locks

If children accidentally open the rear doors while the vehicle is moving, they may fall out and be seriously injured or killed. To prevent children from opening the rear doors from inside, always use the child-protector rear door locks whenever children are in the vehicle.
