Cruise Control System

~1min read

The cruise control system allows the vehicle to be programmed to maintain a constant speed without depressing the accelerator pedal.

This system is designed to operate at speeds above approximately 30 km/h.

WARNING

  • If the cruise control remains on (CRUISE indicator illuminated on the instrument panel), the cruise control may be accidentally activated. Keep the cruise control system off (CRUISE indicator off) when the cruise control is not in use to avoid accidentally setting a speed.
  • Use the cruise control system only on open roads in good weather.
  • Do not use the cruise control system when it may be unsafe to maintain a constant speed, such as in heavy or variable traffic, on slippery (wet, icy, or snowy) or winding roads, or on grades steeper than 6% or on access roads.
  • Pay special attention to driving conditions when

CAUTION

When driving at a cruising speed with a manual transmission, do not shift to neutral without depressing the clutch pedal, as the engine speed will increase excessively. In this case, depress the clutch pedal or release the Cruise Control switch.

NOTICE

During normal cruise control operation, when the SET switch is activated or reactivated after braking, the cruise control system engages after approximately 3 seconds. This delay is normal.

NOTICE

To activate the cruise control system, depress the brake pedal at least once after turning the ignition switch to the ON position or starting the engine. This is to check whether the brake switch, which is an important part of cancelling the cruise control, is in normal condition.
