Wheel Replacement. Tire Grip and Maintenance

~1min read

Wheel Replacement

When replacing metal wheels for any reason, make sure the new wheels are equivalent to the original factory wheels in diameter, rim width, and offset.

WARNING

A wheel of incorrect size may adversely affect wheel and bearing life, brake performance, handling, ground clearance, body-to-tire clearance, snow chain clearance, speedometer and odometer calibration, headlight aim, and bumper height.

Tire Traction

Traction with the road may decrease if you drive on worn tires, improperly installed tires, underinflated tires, or on slippery road surfaces. Replace tires when tread wear indicators appear. To reduce the possibility of losing control, reduce speed whenever the road is wet, snowy, or icy.

Tire Maintenance

In addition to proper inflation, correct wheel alignment helps reduce tire wear. If you find that a tire is worn unevenly, have the wheel alignment angles checked by a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.

When installing new tires, make sure they are balanced. This will improve ride comfort and tire life. In addition, the tire should always be rebalanced if it has been removed from the wheel.
