Replacing fuses on the left side of the vehicle

If the electrical system does not work, check the fuses on the left side of the vehicle first.

1. Make sure the ignition and all other electrical equipment are switched off.

2. Open the fuse box cover.

3. Remove the fuse using the clip located on the inside of the fuse box cover in the engine compartment.

4. Check the fuse and replace it if it is blown.

5. Install a new fuse with the same current rating and make sure it is seated correctly. If you cannot install it correctly, ask a specialist service center for help. We recommend an Authorized Mazda Service Center.

If you do not have a spare fuse, remove one with the same current rating from a circuit that is less important for vehicle operation, such as the AUDIO (audio system) or OUTLET (accessory socket) circuit.

CAUTION

Always replace a fuse with an original Mazda fuse or one with the same current rating.

Otherwise, the electrical circuit may be damaged.

6. Refit the cover and check that it is installed correctly.

Replacing fuses under the engine hood

If the headlights or other electrical equipment do not work, and the fuses in the passenger compartment are not blown, check the fuse box under the engine hood. If a fuse is blown, it must be replaced. Carry out the following operations:

1. Make sure the ignition and all other electrical equipment are switched off.

2. Remove the fuse box cover.

3. If any fuse other than the main fuse (MAIN) is blown, replace it with a new one of the same current rating.

WARNING

Do not replace the main fuse or the multiplex slow-blow fuse yourself. For replacement, contact an Authorized Mazda Service Center. Replacing these fuses yourself endangers safety, because they are high-current fuses.

Incorrect replacement may cause electric shock or a short circuit, resulting in fire.

4. Refit the cover and check that it is installed correctly.
