Freeing a Stuck Vehicle

~1min read

WARNING

Do not spin the wheels at speeds above 56 km/h, and do not allow anyone to stand directly behind a wheel when rocking the vehicle free:

Spinning the wheels at high speed while the vehicle is stuck is dangerous. A spinning tire may overheat and explode.

This may cause serious injury.

WARNING

Rocking the vehicle for an extended period may cause engine overheating, transmission damage, and tire damage.

If the vehicle must be rocked to free it from snow, sand, or mud, lightly depress the accelerator and carefully shift the selector lever between 1 (D) and R.
