Removal and installation of headliner

REMOVAL AND REFITTING

• Vehicle with sunroof: open the louvered sunroof.
• Remove:

• front and rear dome lamps,
• sun visors,
• on the headliner and on the driver's side, the eyeglasses storage compartment,
• on the headliner, all grab handles,
• the center and rear pillar trims.

• Remove the door frame seals at the headliner.
• Vehicle with parking assist system: remove the warning indicator.
• Disconnect the various adjacent connectors on the headliner.
• Vehicle without sunroof or panoramic roof:

• using a cutting wire, cut the headliner,
• with the help of a second technician, remove the headliner through a rear door.

• Vehicle with sunroof or panoramic roof:

• unclip the headliner (Fig.65),
• with the help of a second technician, remove the headliner through a rear door.

To refit, reverse the removal procedure, observing the following points:

• Vehicle without sunroof or panoramic roof:

• remove the old bead of adhesive and replace the headliner,
• clean the roof panel,
• apply a bead of adhesive (width: 7 mm and height: 8 mm).

• do not refit the intermediate parts (1) to the fasteners (2) (Fig.66),

• replace any damaged clips.
